I was so excited at the possibility of shooting Maxine‘s family. They are nothing short of awesome, and I think their session is a great reflection of that. They are big-hearted, fun, genuine people and I am so grateful I got to capture them just being themselves. This is as real as it gets guys, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it.

Shannon and Casey are absolutely, without-doubt crazy about each other, which made my work easy. It was cold, windy, and foggy but this session just looks cozy to me. Sweater weather is my favorite, and so are these love-filled sessions!

Macy and Jace have something special. They really love and care for one another, and it becomes more evident the longer you spend time with them. It is so genuine and comes so effortlessly in real life, just as it did during their engagement session.
After being inseparable for two years, Macy and Jace got engaged on March 8, 2013 and said ‘I love you’ for the first time. These two lovebirds are getting married on New Year’s Eve, 2013. I can’t wait to be there for their celebration!

Light and love are two of my favorite things! These bridals are full of both. The session was simple and beautiful. The aroma of the lavender was intoxicating. The sunshine was warm and it drenched the beach. There was a light breeze and no chance of rain. PERFECTION. Oh, and Jennifer….oh my….

I want to tell you a story; your story, my story, that of a stranger or two. That’s why I became a photographer. With my camera in hand, I can show you what living looks like. I can show you emotion and detail and life. I have found my best storytelling happens when I’m swept in emotion, even if that emotion isn’t my own.
This shoot was an emotional experience for me though. I was hesitant to share the story I wanted to tell because I knew that meant I’d have to open myself up. This styled shoot is inspired by my own experience melded with some amazingly creative vendors whom I adore.
This started as just a vision in my head, as I imagine most do. It is special to me though because my inspiration comes from my own relationship. As a military family, our roots were wherever we planted our feet. That changes often in that situation. Home became wherever we ended up, so long as we were together. It’s that romantic notion that kept me grounded and is the same one that inspired this shoot. Sometimes, all you really do need is love (and four walls) to truly be ‘home’.
To the team of AMAZING people who helped make this shoot a reality, THANK YOU! You are all so incredibly talented! This shoot far exceeded my own expectations. I got to tell a story filled with emotion, detail, and love. I am so happy with all of it and I am incredibly excited to be able to share it with the world!
